Announcement
Data Mesh Manager is now Entropy Data
We're excited to announce that Data Mesh Manager is now Entropy Data. This evolution reflects our broader vision for data products and data contracts while maintaining our commitment to the data mesh principles that matter.
Why we renamed Data Mesh Manager to Entropy Data
We thought about this move for a long time. We are highly invested in the Data Mesh space with having created the popular datamesh-architecture.com, translated Zhamak's book into German, and dozens of consultancy engagements in the Data Mesh area. That's why the product name Data Mesh Manager made prefectly sense for us. And with that name, we were pretty successful and are widely recognized as one of the leaders in the Data Product and Data Contract management. We are still committed to the Data Mesh concept and especially its principles remain highly relevant for organizational change. But over time our product and customer base evolved, and it became clear that Data Mesh should not be part of our product name anymore.

It's all about data products and data contracts with a focus on the data consumer experience. And our product is open for any organization that works with data products and contracts. So we decided to rebrand our Data Mesh Manager to Entropy Data, a more neutral brand that perfectly fits to what it does: managing data, bringing order to chaos. New name, but same product, same logo.
Redesign into Marketplace, Studio, and Governance optimized for personas
We've redesigned our platform around three core areas, each optimized for specific personas to provide simplified entry-points for them:
- Marketplace for data consumers as an entry-point for discovering data products for their business case and requesting access
- Studio for data product owners and developers to add, edit, and monitor data products
- Governance For stewards, managers, and platform team to set up cross-cutting policies and get insights on the platform

Support for Open Industry Standards: ODCS 3.1 and ODPS 1.0
We are members of the Bitol Technical Steering Committee at the Linux Foundation where we drive the creation of open standards in the data management space. Entropy Data is the first tool supporting the recently released Open Data Product Standard (ODPS) 1.0 natively, and it comes with full support for Open Data Contract Standard (ODCS) 3.1.
